Cash benefits for holders of the Card of Pole settling in Poland

To whom the application applies

Pursuant to the Law of September 7, 2017 on the Card of the Pole: a person who applies for a permanent residence permit after January 1, 2017 on account of his or her Card of the Pole, upon his or her application, may be granted a cash benefit intended to partially cover the costs of development and ongoing maintenance in the Republic of Poland. The cash benefit is granted for a period of up to 9 months.

An application for the cash benefit shall be submitted to the governor to whom the application for a permanent residence permit has been submitted. The application for the cash benefit shall be submitted within 3 months from the date of submission of the application for a permanent residence permit.

According to the law, the cash benefit is determined in an amount representing:

  1. during the first 3 months – the equivalent of 50% of the minimum wage in effect in the year of application for the cash benefit – per applicant and his spouse, and the equivalent of 50% of this amount per each minor child under the parental authority of the applicant or his spouse;
  2. in the period from the 4th to the 9th month – 60% of the amounts specified in item 1, respectively.

When the total amount of benefit payments in a fiscal year reaches 75% of the planned expenditures from the special purpose reserve of the state budget, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration shall announce the suspension of the processing of applications for cash benefits with a payment deadline falling in that year, and the governors shall suspend the processing of such applications.

Necessary documents

  • application;
  • a certified copy of the Card of the Pole;
  • certified copy of a current travel document;
  • certified copies of documents confirming personal data of the applicant’s immediate family members residing with the applicant on the territory of the Republic of Poland, if they will be covered by the cash benefit (birth certificates, marriage certificates, travel documents, residence cards);
  • certified copies of documents confirming the residence and intention of the applicant and members of the applicant’s immediate family to settle in the territory of the Republic of Poland;
  • confirmation of payment of stamp duty in the amount of PLN 10.

The application shall be submitted on a form, the specimen of which is specified by the provisions of the Decree of the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration of December 23, 2016 on determining the specimen of the application form for granting a monetary benefit to the holder of the Card of the Pole settling in the territory of the Republic of Poland and the manner of granting assistance.

Fees

Stamp duty in the amount of PLN 10 should be paid to the account of the City of Lodz, Finance Department, 5 Sienkiewicza St., Bank Pekao S.A. 50 1240 1037 1111 0011 0925 0073 Proof of payment should be attached to the application.

Receipt of the decision

The decision may be sent by mail to the mailing address or picked up in person at the offices of the Department of Civil Affairs and Foreigners.
